Carriage House Transforms to Johnny Pistolas

Adams Morgan has struggled a bit in the past with the restaurant scene, but Johnny Pistolas is a great new addition.

The simple and affordable menu offers Mexican fare with delicious flavor.  If you can make it in between 5-7 p.m., you'll find $1 tacos!  That has to be one of the best deals in DC.
The small tray of tacos offers more than enough to feed two people with 6 tacos, tamales, guacamole, slaw and spicy cucumbers.  My favorite was the oyster taco.
It might be worth adding on some tasty street corn.
If you're not in the mood for tacos, try a Carne Asada Rice Bowl.  All in all, every dish I tasted was good and worth ordering again.

I hope to pop in again soon to check out their brunch.  I hear they have bottomless drinks for $15.

Recipe: Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

January is National Soup Month. I love to start out the New Year by making some soup to celebrate. There's nothing better than homemade chicken noodle. The key to this soup is to sweat the vegetables to extract the flavor. This soup is perfect for this time of year because it is light and refreshing but still makes you feel warm inside.
