September is National Apple Month. Try this Apple Pear Chutney recipe. It is great as an after dinner treat paired with an assortment of cheeses. I particularly like Cypress Grove cheese as well as Crave Brothers. This recipe is perfect for the fall. I made it last weekend with pork chops and it was delicious.
1 apple, peeled and diced
1 pear, peeled and diced
¼ cup brown sugar
¾ cup apple cider
Dash of ground cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Combine ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir the mixture continuously and reduce heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until apple is tender and mixture thickens. Serve on top of pork chops or as a side.
