Overview: Kababji Grill

I was pleasantly surprised to taste the food at Kababji Grill.  The house made pita chips and Lebanese olives are a perfect way to start the meal.  The hummus is so fresh and creamy and the Baba Ghannouj has a rich smoky flavor from grilling the eggplant over charcoal.  I loved the grape leaves, fried cheese rolls, kebbeh and yogurt sauce.  Kababji would be  a great place to stop in for a full meal or  even for appetizers and cocktails.  The bar is spacious and I've heard they make mojitos with their homemade mint infused lemonade.  Fabulous for the summer or anytime of year and their patio will be opening soon.

Kababji offers a variety of kababs.  My favorites were the beef with pistachio and the tenderloin cubes.  So tender and flavorful and the garlic sauces are wonderful.

The desserts stand out on their own.  Make sure to try the rice pudding made with rose water that has just the right amount of floral essence with each bite.  Also, the pistachio baklava is crunchy and delightful.  It all goes well with the thick Turkish coffee.

If you're in the mood for a Lebanese treat, stop in to the welcoming Kababji Grill and I'm sure you leave full and happy.

Thank you to Jill Collins for introducing Capital Cooking to a fun ethnic restaurant.
