Last week, Marc Brevot, the Moet and Chandon winemaker, joined a small group of media at Zentan to uncork endless bottles of exceptional Champagne. I usually only pop open the bubbly for special occasions, so this dinner was quite a treat.
We started sipping on the velvety Grand Vintage Blanc 2002 paired with Escolar.
We moved on to a ham and jam course paired with the Rose Imperial NV.
The fresh berry aromas of the Champagne paired well with the fruity black currant jam.
Then were were treated to the Grand Vintage 1992 Blanc served with a crispy Cornish hen. This was my favorite because of the creamy impressions in the mouth at first taste, but then a fresh subtle spicy finish.
Throughout the evening, Marc shared stories of wine making in Champagne, France.
We were starting to get full when the Creekstone Farms Short Ribs and Grand Vintage 2002 Rose arrived to the table.
We topped off the meal with a Five Spice Apple Tart with Salted caramel gelato paired with the Moet Imperial. All of the Moet Champagne was fabulous and I hope to pop open more bottles soon!
