Gear up for the Super Bowl by making some delicious crab dip. Rich Vellante, Executive Chef of Legal Sea Foods, shared this recipe. “This crab dip is always a crowd-pleaser – it’s rich and
warming – and very easy to prepare.”
Crab Dip
serves 4-6ppl
Ingredients:
8oz whipped cream cheese with chives
2T heavy cream
3T minced Bermuda or sweet onion (optional)
2t bottled horseradish
½-1t Old Bay Seasoning
3T sharp Cheddar cheese
1lb fresh, lump crabmeat, undrained, picked over for shells and cartilage
Preparation:
In a large mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese and cream until smooth.
Mix in the onion, horseradish, Old Bay, and Cheddar cheese.
Stir in the crabmeat and its juices.
Place in a medium ovenproof dish, such as a 9-inch pie plate, and bake until bubbly, 10-12 minutes.
Serve immediately with Japanese shrimp crackers (found at Asian markets).
