I just returned from a fabulous trip to Colorado. I really do love it out there. Not only do they have the beautiful mountains, but Colorado also has some amazing food! Can't wait to go back for more.
We started in Denver at District Meats. District Meats is actually owned by Charlie Palmer. You'll find a lunch menu offering a deal with 4 dishes for $15. The restaurant offers a nice atmosphere with well-seasoned and tasty food.
We departed Denver to visit a friend in Boulder. We started with drinks at Jill's patio inside the St. Julien Hotel. This place has magnificent views of the mountains and the very best tater tots I've ever tasted. You can enjoy live music and lots of little ones bouncing around.
We worked up an appetite after the drinks and headed over to the Kitchen. The Kitchen has a nice beer selection and delicious food. However, you'll need to open your wallet wide to find only small portions that leave you wanting more. Excellent service and a lively atmosphere.
For brunch in Boulder, don't miss Snooze. They have an amazing Benedict selection and tons of different pancakes. Don't miss the sweet potato pancake. Tasty Bloodies and patio seating to enjoy the fresh mountain air.
After fun times in Boulder, we were off to Breckenridge to visit my cousin. She took us to a cozy spot called Relish. I finally got my first taste of Colorado lamb and loved it. The food is really good but a little pricy. It can also get a bit noisy because it is a small place, but still worth dining there.
Make sure to get some breakfast at the Blue Moose before skiing. Great coffee and pancakes!
If you get a craving for tacos, check out Rita's. They are a bit bland, but if you add the hot sauce, they'll be a lot better. Perfect spot to drink some margs! We had a night cap at Breckenridge Brewery. I liked the Christmas beer. On Monday nights, they have $1 beers.
On the way back to the airport, we met my aunt for lunch at Linger. Linger is a super cool spot with a great roof deck. The food is eclectic and fun. Don't miss the Mee Krob with shrimp! Reminds me a bit of the Kao Soi that we ate in Thailand.
