On Sunday, June 24th, Blue Duck Tavern at the Park Hyatt Washington will be hosting a Masters of Food and Wine event with breakfast and a walk through the Dupont Circle FRESHFARM Farmers Market.
The restaurant, located at the corner of 24th and M Streets, NW, recently introduced a breakfast menu, which is served daily from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. It's called the "Influential Breakfast," and Sunday's event attendees will be able to taste new menu items. Guests will begin with a morning meal at 9 a.m. on the outdoor terrace. A southern-inspired menu, made with locally sourced ingredients, will include items such as Amish eggs, cheeses from nearby creameries, short rib hash with horseradish sauce, fried chicken liver with poached egg, grits and a sweet pepper relish.
After breakfast, the group will head over to the Sunday Dupont market to watch Blue Duck's Executive Chef Sebastien Archambault and Chef de Cuisine John Melfi in that morning's chef demo. A chilled cucumber and crab meat soup, along with an heirloom tomato tartar with goat cheese and basil sorbet, will be served. For added inspiration, ingredients used in the demo will be sourced directly from the Dupont market! Bernie Prince, co-founder of FRESHFARM Markets, will be present to lead the group on a tour, giving guests the opportunity to learn more, interact with purveyors, and make purchases of their own. The event will conclude at 12 p.m.
Care to join in the fun? Tickets for the event are $55 per person. Reservations can be made by e-mailing masters.phwashington@hyatt.com or by calling 202.419.6768. See you on Sunday!
