The Mayflower Renaissance Hotel is set to open Edgar Bar and Kitchen this month, replacing the former Town and Country and Cafe Promenade, by bringing the spirit of the grand bar back and embracing the history of its legendary location.
Named for former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who dined at The Mayflower nearly every working day for over 20 years, Edgar will feature a marble bar, leather banquettes, original 1920's floors, and antique mirrors. With seating for 166 and a private dining room, this promises to be the perfect spot for a lunch meeting, drinks with friends or dinner with a loved one.
The 24-seat wrap around bar will feature high end liquor with house-made syrups, infused vodkas, aged bourbons and a selection of crafted bitters. Specialty cocktails will include Earl the Pearl, Pom-Blackberry Balsamic Bourbon, Rosemary Citrus-tini, and Bluecoat Cucumber Collins, among others.

The menu will consist of traditional American brasserie cuisine by Executive Chef Andrew Morrison, who is focused on local ingredients and trend-driven flavors. Included on the menu will be Eberly Farm Roasted Chicken, Beer Steamed Blue Hill Mussels, Maryland Crab Cake BLT, and Homemade Meatballs.
Please be sure to order the Homemade Meatballs, because they are the most tender, delicate meatballs you may ever eat.
Lunch: M-F starting at 11:00am, Saturdays starting at noon
Dinner: every evening starting at 5:00pm
Brunch: Sundays from 12:00pm-3:00pm
Bar menu: every day from 11:00am- midnight
