Celebrate Chinese New Year at Zengo

Join Zengo in celebrating Chinese New Year 2013, the honored Year of the Snake, with three brunch specials.

Feast on authentic dishes prepared by Chef de Cuisine Graham Bartlett featuring bold flavors symbolizing the promise of luck, longevity, and good fortune for the New Year.  Dishes includes Scallop and Bacon Gyoza Dumplings with chive, nigori sake-yuzu dipping sauce, which symbolizes wealth and luck; Crispy Skinned Pekin Duck with flour tortillas, orange coriander sauce, hoisin, leek, and pickled cabbage, which symbolizes family and good fortune, as well as Pork and Shrimp Lo Mein with crisp pork belly, bell pepper, water chestnut, and scallion.  Long noodles are served so that all guests at the table will have a long life.  
Crispy Skinned Pekin Duck 
Guests are encouraged to come for brunch, and then head down to the Chinese New Year Parade and Festival, which will be held on Sunday, February 10th from 2 PM to 5 PM on H Street, NW between 6thand 8th Streets. The event features the traditional Chinese dragon dance, Kung Fu demonstrations, live musical entertainment and firecrackers at 3:45 PM. 
Pork and Shrimp Lo Mein
The snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac calendar, which consists of 12 animal signs.  It is the intuitive, introspective, refined and most collected of all the animal signs.  In Eastern philosophy, those born in the Year of the Snake are attractive people who handle a crisis with ease and do not become flustered easily.  Other character traits include wisdom, intelligence, and motivation.

The specials will be available in addition to its $35 bottomless brunch menu, during the last three weekends in February: February 9-10, 16-17, and 23-24, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
