Livingstone, Zambia is a must-visit in Africa for adrenaline junkies! The beauty and warmth of the people are unmatched.
After settling in to Sindabezi Island the night before, we woke up ready to conquer the day with a start at the main attraction, Vic Falls.
Victoria Falls, locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (meaning “the smoke that thunders”), is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Flying in, you can see smoke-like mist from the Victoria Falls, shooting up into the air. The falls are 360 feet high and 5,604 feet wide. It flows 3,000 cubic meters of water per second during high season (December-April) and 300 cubic meters per second during low season (September-November).
Be ready to get drenched!! (Our photos aren't quite as good because I couldn't bring my best camera). We walked to different vantage points all along the Falls. To truly experience it, you have to cross Knife Edge Bridge. It is so fun to get poured on and see everyone dancing in the rain and feeling alive. The entire day was a thrill.
Cute baby baboon
This was only the beginning to an activity packed visit including: jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, microlight flying, a walk with the lions, a swim at Livingstone Island, and a game drive at Mosi-Oa-Tunya Park.
I LOVE Zambia!
