Thinking of Drinking: Hot Buttered Rum

Bibiana's Beverage Director Michael King has created 25 new seasonally inspired drinks, a countdown to December 25th and the joyful, exciting holiday season. This one is available now.

Hot Buttered Rum

Make the butter mixture for the rum:
1/4 lb Butter (Room Temperature)
1/4 lb Brown Sugar
1/4 lb Sugar
Zest of half an orange
1/4 Teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 Teaspoon Ground nutmeg
1 Star Anise Ground
1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon fresh Ginger

Cream all the ingredients together until well incorporated.

Drink:

2 oz Rum (Caliche Rum is delish!)
4 oz hot apple cider
2 Teaspoons of the butter mixture

Stir the butter mixture into the hot cider and rum mixture. Garnish with cinnamon stick.

Alternative:

Make an Ice cream with the butter mixture or mix 1qt of vanilla Ice cream into the butter mixture. Freeze and top with the butter ice cream mix.
