Dine on dishes from China to Brazil without leaving DC!
Zengo recently released another Test Kitchen menu (offered at dinner only) that runs through September 30.
My favorite dish on the menu was the Kung Pao Lamb Chops Asado with spicy Szechuan sauce, yuca puree, toasted peanuts, and tamarind. The lamb is so tender and the yuca puree almost tastes like mashed potatoes. Don't leave without ordering!
The Test Kitchen: China to Brazil also features Pan De Queijo Shrimp Buns served with Brazilian cheese bread, Thai chili shrimp, and orange Glaze;
Szechuan Eggplant “Pastel” with tofu, mushrooms, scallion, chimichurri, and sesame soy glaze;
and Sea Scallops And Char Sui Pork Belly with feijoada sauce (bean), oranges, red onion, and blood orange.
For dessert, don't miss the Gauva Rangoon with cream cheese, dulce de leche ice cream, and guava. I loved the combination of the hot rangoon with the cold ice cream that melts on top. The featured Chinese-Brazilian menu items will range in price from $7 to $30.

To complement the menu, Rob Day, Richard Sandoval Restaurant’s National Beverage Director, crafted 2 cocktails:
Monte Alegre, Pitu Cachaca, elderflower liqueur, Campari, fresh lychee, fresh lime juice and Champagne,
as well as the Strawberry Chipiroshka, vodka, Thai basil simple syrup, fresh lime, fresh strawberry puree, fresh lime juice, and ginger ale which is a twist on a Brazilian classic. (They can even make you a mocktail version.)
