As September begins, Blue Duck Tavern is paying tribute to the simple, fresh flavors of summer with new menu items like panzanella salad, Carolina gold rice risotto, and peaches and cream.
My favorite addition to the new line-up is the scallop carpaccio, light and tender with tiger milk (a Peruvian term for the citrus-based marinade that cures the seafood in a ceviche) over an avocado puree. A bright small bite to enjoy on a hot afternoon.
Another tasty treat on the menu is the risotto with sweet corn and charred Shishito pepper. Creamy and smooth, the corn melts in your mouth.
A hidden gem on the menu is the red fruit profiterole with rhubarb, strawberries and raspberries served with vanilla ice cream. This quintessential summer dessert reminds me of berry picking out in the field in the hot summer sun (red smear on the face and all!).
Before the leaves start to fall, enjoy the freshness of summer over at Blue Duck in some delicious dishes not to be missed!
