The well known FIG and OLIVE restaurant with locations in California, New York and Chicago, finally arrived in DC's City Center with a much anticipated grand opening. The event drew DC socialites, politicians, and foodies to enjoy a night of Veuve Clicquot Brut NV champagne, light bites and signature cocktails.
The Mediterranean-inspired restaurant is quite breathtaking with a simple, sleek design glowing with natural light from large windows and potted rosemary plants. And the food is as beautiful as the space.
Cocktails incorporate the bright appeal of fresh vegetables and fruit, including my favorite of the evening, Summer in Provence.
Highlights from the menu include heirloom carrot, charmoula, and carrot tapenade crostini, cucumber carpaccio and truffle risotto. Every dish was perfectly balanced with an impeccable presentation.
The FIG & OLIVE is a tasty new addition to DC's restaurant scene and a must visit this summer.
