For many Washingtonians, lunch is
a treat. During a time where many of us eat on the fly, hunched over our desks,
or during a meeting – a chance to get out of the office for lunch is a welcome
respite. Del Frisco’s Grille wants to be your ‘go-to’ place for lunch and has recently
re-vamped their lunch menu, taking into account guests’ feedback and
significantly expanding the menu. The menu is specifically designed to cater to
either business or casual lunches, so if you feel like expanding your lunch
hour, there’s something for everyone.
For example, Del Frisco’s Grille brought
back the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, a popular item featuring balsamic
vinegar, basil oil, and micro greens, and I can see why. This fresh salad has
me reminiscing about summer as fall arrives. The burrata was fresh, creamy, and
light.
In addition to bringing back
popular items, Del Frisco’s Grille has added several new items. One such item is the
Asian street tacos, under the “Food to Fight Over” section. These tacos
featured BBQ pork, pickled onion and carrot, cucumber, cilantro, and chilies,
and was served with a hoisin sauce that had a slight kick. The pickled
vegetables added a nice kick and the pork was juicy.
For those looking for something a
little more meaty, Del Frisco’s Grille is now featuring a grassfed hanger
sliced steak served with DFG steak sauce and frites. The steak was juicy and
tender, and the steak sauce was on the thicker side – I called it “meaty” – and
there was a great crunch on the sweet potato fries and chips.
If combos are more your thing,
Del Frisco’s Grille has a brand new “Grab a Pair” section. Designed to give guests
more to choose from, you can choose any personal size flatbread, half of a banh
mi, half of a chicken avocado wrap, or 2 fish tacos, served with a mixed greens
salad, Caesar salad, or cup of soup. I had the opportunity to sample a banh mi,
chicken avocado wrap, and fish tacos, and personally I’d go for the tacos but
you can’t really go wrong with any of them. They had a nice kick and were
served with two dipping sauces. The banh mi features the same meat as the Asian
street tacos but with soft, strong bread, and the chicken avocado wrap featured
a delicious chipotle aioli.
