Chateau de Saint-Amour |
From France, Italy, South Africa, Argentina, California, Australia, and more, some of our new-vintage wines include:
The aptly-named Chateau de Saint-Amour from Georges Duboeuf – considered to be the most sensual of all Cru Beaujolais. It is full-bodied and voluptuous, with aromas of red and black fruits, like cherry. Pair this with filet mignon.
Gustave Lorentz’s latest release of Cremant d’Alsace Rosé, made from 100% pinot noir. This is fresh, fruity, and full of charm and elegance...and a treat for all Valentines.
Vino Dei Fratelli’s vintage Prosecco offers a fresh, slightly sweet taste, a festive Italian flair, an effervescent appearance, and a remarkably low SRP for a vintage Prosecco (under $18.00).
Another sparkling gem from a different part of the globe is Simonsig’s Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé, from Stellenbosch, South Africa. This exceptional and unique champagne-pink rosé is made from both Pinot Noir and Pinotage – and is filled with red berry and quince favors, as well as “dancing” bubbles. This takes me back to the best trip of my life in Cape Town.
We also import Pascual Toso Brut -- a gentle, soft, sparkling selection from Argentina made from 100% Chardonnay. This is a classic aperitif and an outstanding value!
From California, the clean and crisp Two Angels Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of grapefruit, guava, and citrus blossoms, with additional flavors of honeydew melon to go along with mineral notes. And the joyous cherubs on the front label add to the sense of romance. We also carry their Petite Sirah, with grapes coming from the highest vineyards in CA, in Lake County’s “Red Hills” appellation.
And, for something completely different (especially for US consumers) for Valentine’s Day -- Sparkling Shiraz from South Australia. Paringa’s version of versatile sparkling red wine works as an aperitif, an accompaniment to lunch or dinner, or even as a dessert wine. The dark red color is always surprise for bubbly fans.
Cheers!
