We had such a fun time exploring Columbia Heights with CentroNia at their 2nd annual #BuenProvechoDC!
Local restaurants and businesses opened up their doors for a special night of tasting and drinking with friends in the neighborhood while raising money for high-quality, accessible, bilingual early childhood education. It was great to see so many people come out to support such an incredible, life-changing program.
I consider myself a foodie, and am constantly finding new restaurants to try, but this restaurant crawl of Columbia Heights made me visit so many hidden gems in such a central neighborhood in DC!

Favorite Spots:
The Coupe is officially my new date spot. It’s this super sleek (but homey) coffeehouse, lounge, diner, and bar. The Coupe is part of The Tryst Trade Company, which started other casual neighborhood gathering spots such as Open City, The Diner, and Tryst.
You need to check this spot out for the fall. Think local seasonal eats, in-house made pies, and hot mulled cider. PS – Their brunch menu looks #instaworthy!

This taqueria cocina was delicious – and on a fall night like the one I had – it was perfect to sit at the inside-outside bar and order a spicy margarita. The happy hour deals are awesome. Definitely stop by for some tacos and a tiki drink!

This food event was heartwarming. Together, we can improve the lives of children across the District. Through these small events and generous donations, we are helping life-changing programs such as this one, that strive to educate the youth, advance policy changes, and strengthen families in a bilingual, multicultural environment.
