Events: Capital Pride Parties during DC Pride Weekend

Capital Pride is less than two weeks away! What are you doing to celebrate? In celebration of Washington, D.C.’s Pride weekend, Urbana, Radiator, and DNV Rooftop will host parties ranging from lively, pre-parade dance festivities on Saturday, June 8 to a beach-themed pool retreat on Sunday, June 9. 

1) Urbana’s third annual Pride+Shine brunch party on 6/8 

On Saturday, June 8, Urbana will bring back its annual “Pride + Shine” party, offering Washingtonians a coveted front-row seat to the start of the Capital Pride Parade. From 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Urbana’s $50 Pride bar package includes select beer, wine, mixed drinks, and unlimited pizza. DJ Trayze will turn Urbana’s double-sided bar into its own dance party with popular Pride jams blasting throughout the restaurant, Urbana’s bar team will offer rainbow Jell-O shots, and the culinary team will be handing out complimentary rainbow ice cream cones to help keep guests cool – yum!!! 

Guests may purchase the “Pride + Shine” bar package in advance at Eventbrite or at the door. Reservations for a brunch seating are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 202-956-6650 or visiting Urbana. Patio seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

2) Radiator’s POP (Pride On the Patio) brunch party on 6/8 

For Washingtonians who want to be near the action, but not in the action, Radiator is offering “POP” (Pride On the Patio), a colorful and bottomless brunch. For $39, guests may opt into the unlimited brunch package featuring champagne cocktails and Bloody Mary’s, along with brunch creations from Executive Chef Jonathan Dearden such as Tater Tot Eggs Benedict; Chorizo & Avocado Breakfast Tacos; and Smoked Salmon Croissant Crostata. Radiator’s bar team will offer a special menu of ROYGBIV drinks celebrating Pride with all the colors of the rainbow. Colorful cocktails will include: 

· RuPaul’s Delight (red cocktail) 

· Oy Gay (orange cocktail) 

· YAS Queen (yellow cocktail) 

· Golden Girl (green cocktail) 

· Born This Way (blue cocktail) 

· In Cher We Trust (indigo cocktail) 

· Vogue, Strike A Pose (violet cocktail) 

Radiator’s “POP” brunch will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. Reservations for brunch are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 202-742-3150 or visiting Radiator. 

3) DNV Rooftop’s “Gaywatch” hangover pool party on 6/9 

On Sunday, June 9, DNV Rooftop will round out the nation’s capital Pride weekend with “Gaywatch,” a beach-themed pool party and hangover brunch. With no dress code except a bathing suit, DNV Rooftop invites Washingtonians to enjoy brunch on lounge chairs and towels, 14 floors up in a D.C. beach getaway. 

DNV Rooftop’s “Gaywatch” will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A $10 entry fee will be charged at the door. Guests who RSVP ahead of time on EventBrite pay a $5 entry free. Guests who are wearing the wristband from Urbana’s June 8th “Pride + Shine” party will have a waived entry free. Guests must be 21+ to attend.
