2011 DC Embassy Chef Challenge: Re-cap

Cultural Tourism DC's third edition of Embassy Chef Challenge, was a huge success!
Chef Lars Beese, Royal Danish Embassy, won it all with his Creamy asparagus soup and roast duck with apple plum chutney.  The Nordic Countries are on a roll.

We ran into our friend, Chef Maziar Farivar of Georgetown's Peacock Cafe, who was one of the judges.  He was quite impressed with the dishes.
Chef Frida Johansson, Embassy of Sweden, made a delicious smoked elk with a potato cheese terrine with lingon berries and a thyme foam.

Chef Yerlan Abdrakhmanov, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a tasty lamb shashlik.

Chef Jose Luis Fernandez, Embassy of Peru, won the People's Choice Award with his Ceviche.
Chef Kinskyi Serhii, Embassy of Ukraine, made Zucchini stuffed with cheese and cherry tomatoes.

We enjoyed the Danish beer with Hoppy Easter labels.

All of the chefs did a fabulous job and all of them deserve a big congratulations!
