Lost Society: Still needs to Work Out Some Kinks

Me, Felipe Garza(FM), Madeleine Starkey (Events), Chef Joseph Evans, David Kaizim (owner), Richard Vasey (Owner).
Lost Society opened Friday, July 1st.  When it first opened, I was excited to have a new spot in the neighborhood.  I went back for a visit over the weekend and was a little disappointed.  They serve food upstairs until midnight.  While I thought it would be great to enjoy the upstairs patio, they won't allow you to sit down (even when there are plenty of open tables.)  It seems like it would make sense to rope the area off or to decrease the number of tables after 10 p.m. so people can sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Forget the small plates, we want steak!
While I thought Lost Society was the best rooftop I've seen around the area, with views of the Capitol and the hustle and bustle of the corner of 14th and U, it is hard to enjoy with the crowds.
This restaurant is brought to you by the owners of Policy, Current Sushi and Josephine's.
In this two-floor venue, you'll love the Victorian underground scene to feast on dry-aged Angus meat, seafood entrees and comfort food fare including the super yummy mac 'n cheese.
Go to the top for the amazing roof with al fresco dining and vintage inspired bar/lounge area.
These guys weren't messing around when they hired Chef Joseph Evans, the former executive chef of DC's Smith and Wollensky Steakhouse.  He knows his meat and he even snatched his broiler buddy back to work with him.  He is excited to show you his style of cooking without the corporate chain strings attached.
Don't miss the zucchini ribbons, and stuffed lobster with tomatoes, Maryland blue crab cream and Shitake mushrooms.
