Thailand: Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai

We couldn’t leave Chiang Mai without seeing Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep located up in the mountains.
The views are amazing.

You can climb 309 steps to get to the top of the temple or you can take the tram like we did.

We got blessed by a monk that tied string around our wrists to protect us.  Our guide had a whole day of temples planned for us, but we were too templed-out.

We decided to go for a 2 hour Thai Massage at the Massage Palace.

This was our first of 5 massages in Thailand and I’m already yearning for another.  This place was one of the more expensive massages we had in Thailand ($25 for 2 hours).  Thai massage is different from the traditional Swedish style that we were used to.  They are essentially doing yoga with your body…twisting, turning, pulling, and stretching.  Some of it is painful, but it feels really good when it is all over.  More coming soon about dinner and the night market...
