Stress-Free Thanksgiving in DC

Some of the best restaurants in DC are offering to serve you a comforting Thanksgiving feast without the stress of entertaining at home.  If you don't want the hassle of cooking and clean-up, take the family and friends out.

On Thanksgiving morning from 6:30 - 11:00 a.m., meet family and friends for Café Dupont's customary breakfast fare. Later that day, Café Dupont and Bar Dupont will both open for a traditional Thanksgiving family-style dining experience that is too delicious to turn down served from 11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Guests may choose to take comfort in the "feel-at-home" limited a la carte menu or may try a generous three-course harvest prix fixe bill of fare, which features favorite holiday appetizers, traditional main courses and autumnal desserts. Taberna del Alabardero, located at 1776 I Street NW (entrance on 18th Street) will feature a 5 course Thanksgiving menu presented by Executive Chef Javier Romero that will include traditional dishes with a Spanish flare such as the Cream of Pumpkin with a Cheese Mousse and Seafood Foam. 701 Restaurant, located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave., NW will be dishing out a classic Thanksgiving feast with a three-course, prix fixe holiday menu available from 11 AM to 9 PM on Thanksgiving Day. This special meal is priced at $48 per person and $24 for children twelve and under, excluding tax and gratuity. Rasika, located at 633 D Street, NW is adding an exotic Thanksgiving addition to their extensive a la carte menu.  Prepared by Executive Chef Vikram Sunderam, guests can enjoy the flavorful Turkey Kathi Roll with Fried Brussels Sprouts and Butternut Squash Tikki. The special turkey dish is priced at $16, excluding gratuity and tax. Bibiana Osteria-Enoteca located at 1100 New York Ave NW (entrance on 12th and H Streets side) will be offering an authentic Italian twist on Thanksgiving. Situated in the Southwest Waterfront at 1101 4th Street, SW, Station 4 is offering a four-course, pre-fixe seasonal menu priced at $30 per person from 11 AM to 10 PM this Thanksgiving. In addition to a complimentary sparkling glass of wine upon arrival, guests will receive both a starter of Pumpkin Bisque with Pumpkin Praline and Maple Syrup Foam, as well as a Warm Sweet Potato-Crab Salad with Endives, Oranges, Walnut and Dill Vinaigrette. Next, Executive Chef Orlando Amaro will invite guests to select from two standout entrées including the Thanksgiving Leftovers Shepherd’s Pie and Turkey with Dried Fruit and Pork, Cranberry Orange Relish, and Ciabatta Stuffing of Chestnuts and Pancetta. Diners will then get the chance to choose between several smaller casseroles and an assortment of tempting side dishes that include Zinfandel Risotto with Roasted Beets and Walnuts. Legal Sea Foods is urging dinners to take a step back in time to the first Thanksgiving, when people were said to have dined on shellfish and fish.  The traditional stuffed turkey feast will also be available and it includes sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, butternut squash and cranberry sauce. Additionally, ten landmark restaurants within Clyde’s Restaurant Group will also be featuring a traditional Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, November 24th.  Turkey with all the trimming is priced at $25.95 for adults and $15.95 for a child’s portion (exclusive of tax and gratuity). The feast will include sage-sausage stuffing, green beans, whipped potatoes, glazed sweet potatoes, classic turkey gravy and cranberry sauce.
