Event: Paso Robles Wine Country Takes Over DC from April 9-13, 2012

Paso Robles Wine Country, California's next "it" wine destination nestled along the central coast, will take over Washington, DC in less than two months for a wine-centric week of tastings, winemaker dinners and more. With tickets now on sale at www.pasowine.com, wine loving Washingtonians can sample more than 100 wines and meet nearly 20 of the region's winemakers at Paso Robles' Grand Tasting Event on April 11, 2012.

Often hailed as a "hidden gem" and the "next Napa", Paso Robles is gearing up for its DC takeover, April 9-13, 2012 with a lineup of winemaker dinners at some of DC's hottest restaurants, wine tastings at the city's best bottleshops, and the marquee event, the Grand Tasting. The Grand Tasting, taking place at Hotel Palomar in Dupont Circle, will be a memorable evening of Paso Robles wine and tasty bites from Urbana on Wednesday, April 11 from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and now available on www.pasowine.com.

The Grand Tasting will feature Paso Robles wineries ranging from larger, more familiar brands to boutique-style wineries. Wine enthusiasts, foodies and industry experts will experience the diversity in Paso wines as well as meet the winemakers during this exciting tasting. Visit www.pasowine.com to see a complete list of participating wineries.

While only Grand Tasting tickets are currently available online, the Paso Robles Grand Tasting Tour will also include a series of exciting events including:

Winemaker Dinners: Monday, April 9 - Tuesday, April 10, 2012
Paso Robles winemakers will partner with a select number of DC's hottest new restaurants including America Eats Tavern, Founding Farmers, Adour & BLT Steak to host a series of Regional Winemaker Dinners showcasing a diversity of Paso Robles wines. These dinners will give Washingtonians a chance to experience the ultimate pairing of interesting cuisine and world-class wines in this growing epicurean city.

Trade Grand Tasting and Seminar: Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Members of the trade can explore the rapidly-growing wine region with two exclusive events taking place at Hotel Palomar: a wine seminar (1:30 - 2:30 p.m.) and a trade-only tasting (2:30 - 5:30 p.m.). Guests will learn about the expanding new wine destination during a classroom-style wine seminar featuring regional trends from several Paso Robles winemaker personalities. Immediately following is a walk-around tasting featuring varietals ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon and Rhône style wines, to Sauvignon Blanc and Tempranillo. RSVP requested (dusty@threelockhartspr.com).

Wine Retailer Tastings: Thursday, April 12 - Friday, April 13, 2012
Several of DC's best local bottleshops and wine retailers will host in-store wine tastings featuring 3 - 6 of Paso Robles' incredible wines. Bringing the winemakers and principals out of the cellars, attendees will actually be able to meet the personalities behind the wine.
