Sunday Supper at Union Market

Me and Dan
After enjoying one of the best brunches in DC, I hit the pool for a few hours and then headed out the Sunday Supper at Union Market.

Wait until you see this place!  It is truly phenomenal!!  EDENS partnered with the James Beard foundation and FOOD CORPS to create this fabulous event.

The evening started with signature appetizers by Robert Weland (Cork Wine Bar), Travis Croxton (Rappahannock River Oysters), Jamie Leeds (Hank's Oyster Bar), Nate Anda (Red Apron Butchery), Katsuya Fukushima (Daikaya) and Harper McClure (The Federalist).

Derek Brown served a light and refreshing Gin Punch a la Terrington and Gina Chersevani shared a yummy strawberry soda and a chocolate soda for dessert.

The 4 course dinner line up rocked!  While the entire meal was incredibly delicious, I did have some favorites.

First Course:  Nicholas Stefanelli, Bibiana Osteria; R.J. Cooper of Rogue 24;  Nora Pouillon with Todd Woods, Restaurant Nora.  For the first course my favorites were Nick's Braised Pork Trotter and RJ's Rose Veal Flatbread.  Both dishes made me crave seconds.

Second Course:  Mike Isabella, Graffiato; Scott Drewno, The Source by Wolfgang Puck; Robert Wiedmaier, Marcel's.  Scott's Angry crab was delightful!

Third Course:  Fabio Trabocchi of Fiola, Bryan Voltaggio, VOLT, Frederick, MD;  Cathal Armstrong, Restaurant Eve.  Fabio's Maitake Mushroom Casserole had a yummy meaty flavor.  Loved it!

Intermezzo:  Robb Duncan, Dolcezza.  The crowd raved about the Lemon and opal basil gelato.

Fourth Course:  Warren Brown, Cake Love; Pastry Chef Tiffany MacIsaac, Neighborhood Restaurant Group; Santosh Tipur, Coco Sala.  All of the desserts were lovely.

This event was one of a kind.  Can't wait for the official opening of Union Market!
