My First Seder

Owners of Washington DC’s Equinox Restaurant, Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray have a new book called THE NEW JEWISH TABLE (St. Martin’s Press/ March 2013) just in time for Passover.  I got to taste some of the recipes last night at my first Passover Seder dinner at Equinox.
This innovative cookbook explores the melding of two different cooking cultures, seasonal American and Eastern-European Jewish. More than a love story about what one can do with fresh ingredients, Todd and Ellen talk about the food they grew up with, their life together, and how rewarding the sharing of two people’s traditions—and meals—can be.
The Black Angus Beef Brisket in a Red Wine Sauce just melts in your mouth.
I was thrilled to learn about the Jewish culture.  Do yourself a favor and get a copy of The New Jewish Table for meals and memories to last forever.  Thank you to Ellen and Todd for sharing your stories and recipes with us.
