Sparkle Lounge

The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center hosted its annual Sparkle Lounge on Friday, February 14. The atrium of the building was beautifully decorated with a ski lodge theme, which fit the mood of Washingtonians who were still reeling from the 12+ inches of snow dumped on the area by Winter Storm Pax the day before. Sparkle Lounge provided a welcome reprieve from the snow with an evening of fun, food, and drinks.

Led by Executive Chef Xavier Deshayes, the evening began with a number of passed appetizers. Several standouts included: beef with caramelized onion on crostini, halved potatoes with sour cream and caviar, mushroom risotto, and beef with sweet potato puree.

Desserts did not disappoint. In addition to the delicious Kahula and homemade cookie that made its way around the room, Sparkle Lounge featured a fondue station that included several types of homemade marshmallows and a variety of macaroons, 4 types of fondue, and a variety of toppings.

Available for events ranging from weddings to corporate parties to meetings, Sparkle Lounge showcased the best that the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center has to offer. Delicious food, excellent desserts, a beautiful space, and lovely decorations – what more could you ask for?
