On Thursday, May 28, new Capitol Hill restaurant Stanton & Greene will host seven top DC chefs for a cocktail event benefiting No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America. From 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., guests can enjoy signature drinks concocted by the city’s most renowned culinary talent in addition to small bites from Stanton & Greene at a $45 ticket price ($50 at the door). Ulah Bistro, located in the bustling U Street corridor at 1214 U Street, NW, 20009 will celebrate National Burger Day on Thursday, May 28th. Guests can celebrate an American favorite, the Hamburger, with 25% Ulah Bistro's classic Bistro Burger, half pound ground Angus beef and served with leaf lettuce, tomato, and a brioche bun, priced at $12 and served during lunch and dinner service. Enjoy a burger or steak this May on D.C.'s scenic Southwest waterfront at Station 4, located at 1101 4th Street, SW, 20024. In honor of National Burger Day, Station 4 will also be offering guests 25% off their decadent Smoked Kobe-Style Burger, New York style Snake River Farm wagyu corned beef, half a chicken, and Dijon mustard all smoked together, served with stilton blue cheese, grilled onions, Boston lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, a brioche bun and duck fat fries, priced at $20 and served exclusively during dinner service. Awesome Con kicks off this Friday (5/29) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Celebrities of the small and big screen like George Tekei and William Shatner will be among the honored guests. The event celebrates cosplay (costume play) and will be sure to be an excellent spectacle in people watching. For tickets and more information go to Awesome-Con.com. From Friday, May 29 through May, Northern Grade - the nationally acclaimed roving marketplace featuring American manufactured brands - will land in DC for the first time. The two-day, open-to-the-public retail experience is free and will take place inside of Union Market’s Dock 5 space, located adjacent to the market. 

Beginning on Saturday, May 30th, Zentan will host monthly classes through the summer, alternating between chef-hosted and bar-focused classes, with new themes each month. The first class will be hosted by Chef Yo and will be a decorative sushi themed class. Hosted at Zentan from 2 – 4 p.m., this art of sushi class will discuss elements of the sushi making process such as culture, preparation, and composition. Guests will have the opportunity to make heart-shaped sushi or carve a rose from carrots and cucumbers. After class, attendees will be invited onto the DNV Rooftop to enjoy a cocktail on us. Monday, June 1 Chez Le Commis + Lowland Hum -- A Food & Folk Collaboration! Celebrating the release of their sophomore album, husband and wife duo Lowland Hum will conclude a five-week tour with a special food and folk collaboration with the acclaimed supper club Chez Le Commis. Daniel and Lauren Goans of Lowland Hum first met Chef Tom Madrecki and fiancée Priya Bettadapur at a winter fundraiser in Charlottesville VA, and are thrilled to join forces again at Mess Hall. Attendees will be treated to five forces and three wine pairings to go along with the relaxing folk music. Courses include Cured Salmon with beets, unripe plum, and turmeric and Duck with hot sauce, wild fennel and parsley. The landmark 1789 Restaurant in Georgetown is pleased to announce their annual Summer Special, available June 1st through September 11th (with the exception of Saturdays). Priced at $48 per person (beverages, tax and gratuity not included), guests can select any combination of two dishes from the dinner menu and one from the dessert menu. The seasonal menu, created by Executive Chef Samuel Kim and Pastry Chef Lauren Petri, will change frequently throughout the summer to incorporate the fresh produce and fruits provided by local farms and orchards. To partake in this special dinner option, guests must mention the Summer Special to their server at dinner.

On Tuesday, June 2, join DC Greens for a K Street Farm Dinner. Featuring special guest Jake Gyllenhaal, this evening will sure be a night to remember! This dinner will celebrate the power of partnerships and the push to create a healthy food system in the nation’s capital. Being held at the K Street Farm (wear festive attire and farm-ready footwear!), this special evening will feature Chefs including Ruben Garcia from Minibar, Bryan Voltaggio from Range/Volt, Mike Friedman from the Red Hen, and Tiffany MacIsaac from Buttercream Bakeshop, among others.
