Opening: Jug and Table

By Claire Goldman

Glasses and carafes and jugs, oh my!  Adams Morgan gets a new wine bar on the ground floor of Roofer's Union.  Jug and Table officially opened to the public last month.

Wine lovers rejoice!  The wine list, cultivated by decorated DC food industry veteran and certified sommelier Theo Rutherford, includes 40 wines from around the globe.  There are 20 by the glass options and eight wines on tap.  The list is broken down into colors and then further sections such as Red:  Easy Listening  and Red: Heavy Metal.

Roofer's Union Executive Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley has designed a special bar menu for the first floor wine bar.  Some of the menu stand outs are the Duck Rilletes with 5 spice, cornichon and grilled bread, the Greek sandwich of halloumi, chevre, lamb, roasted red pepper and mint and the cheese and meat boards.

While the wines by the glass run from $6 to $16, at Jug and Table's daily happy hour from 5 pm - 7pm there are $5 glasses of red, white and sparkling and $20 to $25 jugs (approximately two bottles).
