Executive Chef Claudio Pirollo of the classic Belgian French bistro Et Voila!, located at 5120 MacArthur Boulevard, NW, 20016, will be featuring Monster in a Cage, a special appetizer (photo available) which will be offered exclusively during dinner service on Saturday, October 31st. Priced at $19, the dish is a half lobster with artichoke and beans inside of a cage made of puff pastry. For the perfect pairing, the restaurant will be pouring a blood-curdling wine, Hervé Bizeul’s Sorcières (which translates to witches) from Roussillon, France, priced at $45 per bottle. Before the trick-or-treating begins, Pete's New Haven Style Apizza is inviting kids and families to enjoy an afternoon of pumpkin crafts and treats at a Pumpkin Decorating Pizza Party, hosted at two of its locations - Clarendon and Silver Spring - on Saturday, October 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festive afternoon will feature pumpkins for decorating, along with pumpkin-topped pizzas, pumpkin pasta and pumpkin spice latté gelato.

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar, located at 801A 9th Street, NW, 20001, will offer a Candy Corn Martini made from a combination of vanilla vodka, butterscotch schnapps, Crème de Cacao and fresh orange juice, garnished with candy corn. This seasonal libation is priced at $10, and will be available through the remainder of October. Additionally, Cuba Libre will celebrate this ghostly festival with costume parties on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st. The theme on Friday is Viernes de VixSin and festivities will run from 10:30 PM until 3 AM. Guests can enjoy late night happy hour specials from 10:30 PM to 12 Midnight, which include $4 Heinekens, and $6 Pyrat Rum and Ultimat Vodka cocktails. Diamond Boy Luis and resident Deejay Piojo will host the costume party on Saturday, October 31st from 10:30 PM to 3 AM. Over $1,000 in cash and prizes will be handed out on this particular evening, and winners will be announced on Sunday, November 1st at 1 AM. Participants in the costume contest will be chosen by Cuba Libre’s management and winners will be selected by guests. On Halloween, the downstairs space of Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown will also be used to host a costume party with festivities starting at 5:00 p.m. “Halloween-themed” drafts and cocktails will be served, along with an"Orange, White & Black“ pizza. Prizes will be given for best dressed, as well as those in beer-themed costumes. Beer varieties will feature drafts with a fun play on words, which embody the spirit of Halloween. The full line-up includes: 3 Stars Ghost IPA, Fair Winds Howling Gale, Flying Dog The Fear, Blue Mountain Dark Hollow, Local Option Blood ov the King, Brewer's Art Resurrection, Left Hand Wake Up Dead, Smuttynose Frankenlager, Founders Backwoods Bastard, Great Lakes Nosferatu, Port City Maniacal, Southern Tier Warlock, StartFragment, Stillwater The Devil is People and Old Ox Oxcersist.Cocktails for the evening will play off the angel (blanco tequila) and devil (mezcal) themes, as well as incorporate a little Day of the Dead influence. The Divine Image is made with blood orange infused blanco tequila, lime juice, blood orange juice, piloncillo simple syrup (an unrefined Mexican cane sugar) and fresh ginger. Devil Flip is made with Guajillo infused mezcal, Amaro Lucano, cinnamon-infused cold brew coffee, velvet falernum, agave nectar, egg and chocolate bitters. 

Magnolia's On King, located at 703 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, invites guests to celebrate the rich history of Old Town, known as one of the most haunted cities in America. From October 27th through November 1st, the restaurant will be pouring a spooky cocktail appropriately titled, Spirits of Alexandria's Passed. Created by Mixologist Zachary Faden, this seasonal libation is a twist on George Washington's famed Cherry Bounce, a brandy-based drink popular in the eighteenth century. Spirits of Alexandria's Passed is made from a combination of house-made spiced sour cherry syrup, Calvados Bushnell Vieille Reserve VSOP, Old Overholt Rye, and garnished with a brûléed orange spiced with clove and is priced at $14. Guests can head to El Centro D.F., with two locations at 1819 14th Street NW, 20009 and in Georgetown at 1218 Wisconsin Ave, NW, 20007, to get into the Halloween spirit with festive decorations, as well as parties on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st at both locations. The festivities will kick off at 9 PM in Georgetown and 10 PM at 14th Street, and guests can enjoy spooky decorations, classic Mexican cocktails, as well as a costume and social media contest. The two winners of the contests from each restaurant will receive a $75 gift certificate exclusive to that location. Additionally, El Centro will offer its siesta menu at the bar featuring classic Mexican fare. Dishes include Chicken Flautas with morita salsa, bean purée, and crema fresca; El Centro Dog, bacon-wrapped hot dog with Mexican slaw, black bean purée, and habanero mustard; Jalapeño Beef & Chorizo Sliders with Chihuahua cheese, avocado pickled jalapeño, and aji amarillo aioli; Vegetarian Tacos with crispy cheese, mushroom, squash, and grilled scallion, and Nachos with Oaxaca cheese sauce, diced chicken, and pickled jalapeño. Masa 14, located in the bustling 14th street corridor, will also celebrate this ghostly festival with a Mexican Halloween brunch on Saturday, October 31st. Brunch will be served form 10 AM to 3 PM, and guests are encouraged to dress up for a chance to enter in Masa 14's best costume challenge and social media contest. Two winners will be named on Monday, November 2nd; those with the best costume will receive a $75 gift certificate. Additionally, brunch-goers can enjoy Latin-Asian small plates and tapas from Masa 14's popular Bottomless Brunch menu. Priced at $39 per person and $10 per child under 10 (tax and gratuity excluded), guests can enjoy an unlimited selection of brunch drinks full of seasonal flavor such as the Traditional Mimosa, Masa Mimosa, Lychee Bellini, Bloody Mary, Bacon Bloody Mary and Lemon Lager. The menu features a selection of Salads, Eggs and Such, Sandwiches, Sweets and Sides, including Pork Belly Benedict with spicy curry potato cake and chipotle hollandaise; Chilaquiles, corn tortillas, chorizo, queso cotija and soft scrambled eggs; Smoked Chicken Hash with caramelized onions, chilies, chipotle hollandaise, yucca and poached egg; Fruit & House-made Granola with citrus yogurt and blood orange syrup, as well as the Crispy Smoked Brisket Bun with hoisin BBQ, pickled onion, toasted sesame and cilantro. Situated in the newly developed Southwest Waterfront, Station 4, located at 1101 4th Street, SW, 20024, will be offering a Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest on draft along with three seasonal bottled beers including theDogfish Head Brewery’s Pumpkin Ale, Bell’s Brewery, Inc’s English Brown Ale and the Evil Genius Beer Company’s Trick or Treat. Ambar, located at 523 8th Street, SE, 20003 will be introducing lunch service in October and what better way to kick it off than with a Halloween-themed sandwich made with organic slaw mix, breaded smoked gouda cheese, ajvar emulsion and roasted pumpkin cubes, served on gluten free bread, and topped with house-made tartar sauce. The sandwich is shaped and decorated with the face of a jack-o-lantern and will be available from October 26th through November 1st and is priced at $6. Finally, The Hay-Adams, located at 800 16th Street NW in Washington, DC, 20006, is offering a spooky overnight package, the "Transylvania Suite”, which will be available for one or two nights, October 30th-31st. Guests who book the suite, which is priced at $2,995 per night (excluding tax and gratuity), will find the expansive canopy bed dressed in custom designed Italian linens, embellished with cobwebs and creepily embroidered personalized pillows in a luxurious suite overlooking Lafayette Park towards the White House, setting the stage for a wickedly decadent evening. The Transylvania Suite will be fiendishly decorated by Designer Barbara Hamilton of The Ociana Group. Additionally, guests will enjoy a creepy crawly spider-themed dessert created by Pastry Chef Josh Short, blood-curdling cocktails and a three-course dinner paired with wine pairings to be enjoyed in the suite along, with a collection of old and new horror movies for setting the tone of the evening. A diabolically concocted turn-down surprise will be delivered prior to retiring for the night. The following morning guests can celebrate daybreak with a lavish breakfast in bed at their leisure and who can resist a Bloody Scary morning cocktail to pair with breakfast.
