Things to Do: FREE “Cooking Up History” Demo at the American History Museum

Once a month, The American History Museum puts on an incredible food demonstration with a guest chef and their resident food historian, Dr. Ashley Rose Young. The duo prepares recipes while discussing the history and traditions behind the ingredients.

Take a long lunch on Friday, July 13th to attend the “Cooking Up History: Exploring the Northeast” food event at the American History Museum with guest chef Brian Patterson, Head Chef of the Glenstone Museum in Potomac, Maryland and food historian Ashley Rose Young. This month they will be in the Demonstration Kitchen talking about regional foodways of baseball, and not just the regular peanuts and hot dog dishes! We’ve all seen America’s Favorite Pastime transition into the food world. Join the foodies on Friday and check out dishes inspired by the kitchen in the museum’s Stars & Stripes Café.

Brian Patterson, Chef Instructor at L'Academie de Cuisine
