Dining Out: Stable

Stable, a Swiss-American spot on H Street, just celebrated their two-year anniversary!

The restaurant threw a party to celebrate – sprinkling European Cheeses & Charcuterie plates around the dining room, serving small bites of their Potato Rösti with House Smoked Salmon and Stable’s infamous Chicken Wings near their open kitchen, and creating delicious melted Swiss Raclette stations. The restaurant also packed the bar with an array of Swiss beers, wine, and some of Stable’s best handcrafted cocktails, and they ended the night with a giant homemade birthday cake!

Never been to Stable? You need to check it out! Stable’s owners, David Fritsche and Silvan Kraemer, have loved food and the culinary scene for years, training and cooking in some of the finest restaurants around the globe. The longtime friends and business partners, both natives of the German-speaking part of Switzerland, wanted to create a restaurant in D.C. that fused together Swiss (an homage to their homeland eats) and American cuisines. Two years later and they are still loving it!

The recipes at Stable come from Fritsche and Kraemer’s childhoods in the Swiss Alps, but have flavors and elements from the farm lands of the US. They import essential ingredients from Switzerland but work with local farmers to source the freshest seasonal eats.

The menu features a large shareable section with loads of cheese and meat options. For cheese lovers, this is the spot to be!
