Thinking of Drinking: Hibiscus Margarita

Happy Margarita Day!  This one is a tribute to Africa.  I'll be headed there tomorrow for my latest adventure.  Hope to keep you updated when I'm away with more food and fun!

Rosangel tequila which is a 100% agave, natural low calorie tequila. It is the ONLY hibiscus infused tequila on the market, made from wild Hibiscus flowers from the fields of Mexico, rather than artificial flavors. We made Hibiscus Margaritas for our Capital Cooking Cookbook promo video. Delightful!

1 shot Rosangel tequila
1/2 shot orange juice
Juice of 1/2 lime
1/2 shot Hibiscus simple syrup
Garnish:  Lime
Rim:  Sugar in the Raw and Sea Salt

Rub a lime wedge across the lip of a margarita glass and dip the lip in the sugar and sea salt to rim.  Add the liquids to a margarita glass filled with ice.  Garnish with a lime.

Hibiscus Simple Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup Hibiscus flowers

Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.  Stir until sugar dissolves and then remove from heat.  Add hibiscus flowers and cool.  Store in a clear glass bottle or jar with a tight fitting lid in the refrigerator.
