You’re not in Tuscany unless you eat the Pappardelle All’Aglione, one of the most classic pasta dishes in southern Tuscany. Very ripe tomatoes, garlic cloves, parsley, and basil combine to create an authentic Tuscan sauce. Pair the dish with a Loose Cannon Beer, and you will see the the citrus hop flavor unite with the acidity of the tomatoes and garlic.
Dino’s Lemony Anchovy Salsa Verde is paired with a Monte Fiore Wine. Anchovies, rosemary, capers, parsley, and oil are combined with a touch of lemon juice, forming a lemony tang salsa. The salsa is neither sour nor overpowering, and it becomes a perfect side for the Bistecca Fiorentina.
Lauren creates two cocktails to accompany the recipes. For the Tuscan Lemon Drop Cocktail: Ventura Limoncella and Orange Vodka is mixed with a rosemary simple syrup. It is the perfect addition for a sunny day just like in Tuscany. Next, the Italian Sangria is prepared : an Italian white wine is combined with a cup of Limoncello, lemon juice, lime juice, and orange juice. It’s light, refreshing, lemony, and best of all, delicious!
