DC has no shortage of tasty treats. From cocktails to sweets, I've been eating all around town and loving every minute of it.
Ping Pong Dim Sum recently added a new cocktail line up. My favorites were the Chinese Mule and the Johnny Treacle. The Tennessee Electric Tea is also interesting because it is served with a mouth-numbing Szechuan bud.
James Beard Foundation’s 2012 Rising Star Chef of the Year, pastry chef Christina Tosi was joined by Baltimore’s Chris Ford, recently named Food and Wine’s People’s Best New Pastry Chef, and five of their peers at the first ever Cocktails and Confections DC. The rooftop reception featured sweet delights and cocktail concoctions with stunning views of the U.S. Capitol and National Mall. All proceeds went to support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign, a national effort to end childhood hunger in America. The best was the Blueberry Cobbler Reconfigured by Bill Corbett.
Black’s Bar and Kitchen recently hosted an Outdoor BBQ at the new Tiki Bar. They had a great fresh seafood spread and fun summer cocktails. Everyone had a blast listening to the live music and enjoying brunch treats.
After a long day at the pool, we stopped into Surfside on the way home. If you're looking for fresh and healthy options, this is the spot to be. We loved the tacos.
