Upcoming Events: Champange Campaign, Cedar Cocktail Class, Cochon 555 and more!


The Champagne Campaign at Lost Society has partnered with nightlife impresario Eric Lund and the Midnight Group for a weekly Saturday party on one of DC's hottest rooftops. This Saturday, 4/21, from 1-5pm, enjoy a mix of house music and top 40 hits with bottomless mimosas & champagne and a complimentary brunch buffet. $40 per person.

DC Chinese Takeout Food Experiments Cook-off on 4/22 from 12-3 p.m. at the Rock 'n Roll Hotel. Get a taste of Chinese Takeout from Amateur cooks facing off for some great prizes. I'll be judging.

COCHON 555 – five chefs, five pigs, five winemakers – is a one-of-a-kind traveling culinary competition and tasting event to promote sustainable farming of heritage breed pigs. The event challenges five local chefs to prepare a menu created from heritage breed pigs, nose-to-tail, for an audience of pork-loving epicureans. April 22nd 4  pm VIP opening; 5 pm general admission. Come check it out!  I'll be judging.

“An Evening with Common Threads – Chefs Celebrating Children in the Kitchen.” Hosted by two-time James Beard Award winner and Common Threads founder Art Smith, along with co-hosts Chef Carla Hall and Mary Beth Albright, the evening will raise funds to support the non-profit organizations life changing hands-on cooking classes. The event will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel, an Affinia Hotel and Art and Soul (415 New Jersey Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20001). Join me at the Ommegang Hop Chef Competition on Saturday, April 28, 2012 1-4 pm at The Atlas Theater, 1333 H Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.  DC-area chefs will be imaginatively preparing and pairing dishes with fine Ommegang ales. Each chef creates two dishes showcasing their skills in bringing Great Beer and Great Food to exuberant life.

April 29:  Sunday Experience Series: Cocktail Class at CedarCedar presents the 2nd part in their popular dinner series, "Sunday Experience" on Sunday, April 29, 2012 as mixologist Matt Perkins, cocktail maker, creative mind and bar connoisseur conducts an engaging, lively, and informative class.
