Opening: Sette Osteria

By Lauren Rosalanko

Sette Osteria, a Dupont Circle Italian restaurant opened the newest location at 1634 14th Street last week. Their new menu offers a wide variety of pasta, pizza and antipasti dishes at an unbeatable location. Overall, their dishes are reasonably priced, with most dishes being under $20.

The drink menu offered exciting new cocktail options. I was able to try the No 7. The cocktail was refreshing with a burst of cucumber flavor and not too sweet. I would highly recommend ordering one of these if you visit Sette Osteria.

I started by trying the Bruschette Miste with fresh tomatoes. I always enjoy this light and refreshing appetizer as a start to an Italian meal. For dinner I tried their homemade pasta. The handmade Strozzapreti Con Pesto is a dish that I would recommend. Strozzapreti isn't always an option at restaurants, but it is an longer version of the more common cavatelli pasta. The dish was topped with a bold pesto and also accompanied by shrimp and diced tomatoes. I have heard that Sette Osteria's wood fired pizza is also a great choice. They have over 15 pizza options, many of which are served with San Marzano tomato sauce.

Sette Osteria is a great option for Italian dining. Now, you can visit on Dupont Circle or on trendy 14th Street to fulfill your dining needs at a reasonable cost.
