Best Bites of 2012

2012 treated my belly well, maybe a little too well.  I ate my way around the globe including foodie trips to Mexico, Canada, Sweden and Taiwan.  Here are the best bites of 2012.

The seafood feast at Everts Sjobod including:  oysters, crab, mussels, shrimp and cray fish.
Filet of Norwegian Salmon and Maine Lobster with Chanterelle Mushrooms and Mini Lobster Ravioli from Marcel's
Oyster Stew from Wit and Wisdom with vermouth cream, spinach, caramelized onion, salsify

Mushroom Tart with Snails, Bacon, Arugula and Pesto at Le Filet in Montreal
J and G's signature Black Truffle Cheese Fritters (bite-sized hot, cheesy, earthy and melty goodness)
Cedar's Grilled Elk Sausage
The Butifarra amb Mongetes from Boqueria.  The Spachowski pork sausage is served with the creamiest baby white beans and a fried egg, salsa verde, red onion, and cilantro.
Bar Pilar's beet and ricotta salad with peas.  Such simple flavors can be so delicious.
1789's Red Snapper with lobster farro, baby carrots and rose lobster beurre blanc.  It is a rich dish, but worth every calorie.
Fresh Crab Salsa from Johnny Mo
The Pumpkin Pie with Streusel Topping at Pearl Dive
Apple Pie from Blue Duck Tavern
Ooey gooey tator tots filled with melted Gruyere and dipped in spicy ketchup at Food, Wine and Co.
Pisces Group Private Yacht Excursions' sushi.  The chef rolls crab inside of tuna and uses 4 different sauces to create the cutest rice-less rolls.
