Ready to find out the winner of the blind pumpkin beer tasting? This post will reveal the winner by counting down the top 5 pumpkin beers as ranked by our tasters.

Beer #6, ranking 4th in our tasting: New Belgium Pumpkick. Tasters noted that this beer was one of the more spicy ones - it really did have a kick, true to its name - but remained light.

Beers #7 & #8: Tying for third place in our tasting was Southern Tier Pumking and Aleworks Pumpkin Ale. Pumking featured spicy, sweet, and slightly malty notes, while tasters enjoyed Pumpkin Ale’s slight hoppiness and sweetness, balanced with just a touch of spice.

Beer #9, in 2nd place: Ithaca Beer Company Country Pumpkin. Tasters noted that this beer was light, sweet, and balanced nicely with spices.

And, the winner of the pumpkin beer tasting: Devils Backbone Pumpkin Hunter – how fitting that the winner is a beer brewed right in DC’s backyard! Beating the 2nd place beer by over 5 points, tasters loved Pumpkin Hunter’s sweetness, touch of hops, hint of spice, and the fact that the beer wasn't too heavy.
