Uncorked: Wines for BBQ

Looking for wines to go with your BBQ?  Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel Mendocino County 2014 and Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel Napa Valley 2014 have notes of black cherry and spice, complementing barbecues.

Created by “Godfather of Zin” Joel Peterson, Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandels showcase the best aspects of their respective terroirs, while maintaining the winery’s “no wimpy wines” ethos.

Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel Mendocino County 2014 (SRP $18) is a medium-bodied ripe Zin with vibrant cherry and cassis layered with notes of toasty oak shining through. Spicy clove and cardamom balance the wine, making it the perfect pair for barbecued lamb.

Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel Napa Valley 2014 (SRP $18) is sourced from some of the oldest and best Zin vineyards in the Napa Valley (including Balyeat, Perez and Dickerson). As with its Mendocino County cousin, the Napa Valley Zinfandel 2014 is layered with bright cherry, hints of blackberry jam, clove and vanilla notes, complementing grilled chicken.

Cheers!
