Dining Out: New “Best Breakfast in America” Pop-Up at The Watergate Hotel

The Watergate Hotel has prepared a new breakfast pop-up menu featuring dishes from four nationwide renowned restaurants—Connie’s Chicken and Waffles in Baltimore, Paperboy in Austin, Blue Collar Restaurant in Miami and Dusek’s in Chicago.

Chef Noah Poses from Kingbird at the Watergate Hotel said, “we are adding exclusive items to the Watergate Hotel’s breakfast menu to highlight some of the country’s best breakfast hotspots.” Sounds like a foodie dream, am I right?! Breakfast and brunch is available everyday at the Watergate Hotel's restaurant, and the new pop-up menu is available to-go as well!

So, what’s on the menu?

Connie’s Chicken and Red Velvet Waffles

Soul food created by the family-run Baltimore eatery Connie’s Chicken and Waffles. The maple syrup and cream went so well with the crunchy chicken and delicious red velvet waffles! I think I need to head into Baltimore to try their other comfort food creations.

Texas Hash with Braised Pork Shoulder

A gooey poached egg with sweet potatoes and savory pork. This is a classic southern favorite straight from the Lone Star State. Can you say #Eggporn?

Bacon and Egg Sandwich with Potato Latkes

Who can say no to an upgraded classic breakfast sammie? Miami chef Daniel Serfer knows how to nail upscale diner-style eats.

Ricotta and Jam Beignets

This was my favorite dish from the Watergate Hotel’s new breakfast pop-up! The pastry was thoughtfully baked and topped with fresh blueberry jam, toasted almonds, and powdered sugar. I recommend ordering this dish to share with the table – everyone will want a bite or two! Chicagoans know how to eat.
