This Thursday, Union Market’s 2015 Launch Pad competition winner, Arepa Zone, gave a preview of their tasty new menu! Their business is located right inside Union Market and opened on August 29th, 2015.
Arepas are traditional Venezuelan street food. They are a grilled corn patty stuffed with several different kinds of filings.

Thursday night, we got to sample their dynamic menu. Not only are they sharing their Arepas, they are also sharing other traditional Venezuelan food such as cachapas and tequenos.
Cachapas are similar to arepas in that they are fried sweet corn pancakes topped with almost anything you would like.
Tequenos are fried cheese sticks served with a delicious dipping sauce. How can you go wrong with fried cheese?!
