Just a Few of My Favorite Things: Hot Sauce

I am obsessed with all things spicy, but I am frequently unimpressed with everything I buy that markets themselves as "hot." Either it’s too mild, hot but flavorless, not appetizing, or filled with strange ingredients. However, last week I got to sample Poor Devil Pepper Co.’s Hot Sauce to get ready for the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City, North America’s largest specialty food and beverage event that displays a wide variety of innovative and new products, and I fell in love.

New Local Market to Open near my neighborhood

Not only will I have a Yes Organic! grocer in my building, Ellwood Thompson's Local Market will be expanding to Columbia Heights. Ellwood Thompson's new store will be located in the DC USA development at 14th and Irving Streets, NW, adjacent to the Columbia Heights Metro station.

The local, organic and natural market is slated to open in fall/winter of 2009 and will be nearly 15,000 square feet. In addition, this growth will bring 90-110 new jobs to the area, everything from managerial to general positions, with great benefits and a unique and meaningful working environment. I can't wait!
