Slate Wine Bar in Glover Park recently got a new chef and new menu. We stopped into check it out and were pleasantly satisfied by this neighborhood restaurant.
We started with the Chipotle Chicken Soup, Baked Brie and Duck Spring Rolls.
All were tasty and worth ordering.
I think the Duck Spring Rolls were our favorite matched with the honey mustard dipping sauce.
For entrees, I tried the risotto with shrimp and it was one of the creamiest I've had. They were also spot on with the wine pairings for the meal.
Corey tried the saffron rice which was a hit as well. Don't leave without dessert.
We loved the caramel brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and the tres leches cake with strawberries. In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant had excellent service. All in all, Slate is a nice spot for a date night or wine time with girlfriends. I'm a fan!
