Thinking of Drinking: Spiced Hot Chocolate

The upper patio at Poste Moderne Brasserie has been transformed into a cozy respite, as the restaurant relaunches the popular Poste Winter Lounge, complete with warm seasonal cocktails, complimentary s’mores and accompanying fire pits and blankets.
Poste’s lead bartender Justin Hampton has crafted a menu of warming cocktails available exclusively on the patio Thursday through Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. all winter long. Executive Chef Kyoo Eom has created complimentary make your own s’mores kits with favorite fixings including graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows, available every day that the Winter Lounge is open.


Spiced Hot Chocolate $12

4.5 oz House Hot Chocolate

1.5 oz aged rum

House Hot Chocolate: Combine cocoa, sugar, water, Poste grown dried Thai chilies, and salt in a medium saucepan.

Over medium heat, stir constantly until the mixture boils. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.

Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil.

Remove from the heat and add house Makers Mark vanilla extract; stir well. Combine with aged rum.
