Start Sunday Right With Brunch by Capital Cooking airing this Week!

Enjoy Sunday with Capital Cooking as host Lauren DeSantis guides viewers through making a delectable brunch that will become a favorite in every home. Executive Chef of the Blue Duck Tavern, Brian McBride, joins Lauren as he demonstrates how to make a brunch favorite from his restaurant.
The show begins with Brian McBride making crab cakes with poached egg and aioli sauce. With the help of Lauren, McBride shows viewers how to create their own crab cakes while preserving the true taste of the crab by using only white breadcrumbs as a filling. Instead of frying the crab cakes, McBride further enhances the taste of the crab by only searing the sides of each crab cake. Next the two make poached eggs and a simple aioli sauce to place on top of the crab cake. Served with mixed greens, this is a perfect dish to begin a Sunday.
Following crab cakes, Lauren shows how to make a quick and easy fresh berry salad with mint and triple sec. Fruit is the focus of this dish but the mint and triple sec add a kick to this traditional recipe. Lauren then turns to make skillet-fried potatoes with rosemary, bacon, and onion. The bacon and rosemary combine to create a balance of heartiness and delicateness that standard breakfast potatoes lack.
Finally, Nathan from Imperial Vodka steps in to demonstrate how to make the perfect brunch cocktail. From a spicy Bloody Mary to a sweet Fuzzy Navel, there is no better way to relax on a Sunday morning.
