Eating and Drinking Around Town: 1789, Urban Table and Watershed

Riseling Poached Breast of Market Chicken with morel mushroom agnolotti, charred asparagus and green peppercorn chicken jus from Chef Todd Gray
This summer has treated my stomach well.  I've been eating all over town and loving every minute.  Where have you been eating and drinking this summer?

The four-course meal at the Second Annual Urban Farm Table Under the Stars made for a beautiful evening in Woodrow Wilson Plaza even though the stars weren't quite shining from the rain.  It didn't matter because we were under white tents and tasting fabulous dishes from Equinox and  Watershed's Todd Gray (RAMMY Chef of the Year), Casa Nonna’s Amy Brandwein, Xavier Deshayes of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, and Jamie Montes de Oca Jr., of Zentan.   My favorite was Chef Jamie's Duck Prosciutto with pickled wax beans, Marcona almonds, black currant jam with Col D’Orcia Rosso di Montalcino wine. If you love local food as much as me, make sure to check out this event next year!

We stopped into Watershed for a late night sip and snack.  Simo surprised us with a Prickly Pear cocktail.  The chef went fishing and came back with the most amazing catch of calamari, rock fish and lobster.
Executive Chef Daniel Giusti and Pastry Chef Mallory taught us how to grill up a feast at 1789.  The large rib-eye roast, grilled salmon and cornbread with sweet corn ice cream topped with blueberries was delicious!  1789 on Urbanspoon
