Ripple's newest addition-The Grilled Cheese Bar

In honor of their second anniversary, Ripple is introducing their brand new artisanal grilled cheese bar.  Located in Cleveland Park, Ripple is known for their seasonal, daily menu, extensive wine and cocktail list, and their ever changing selection of cheeses and charcuterie.

They recently kicked off their grilled cheese bar with a preview party featuring their 7 new signature grilled cheeses along with other snacks from their sister shop, Sugar Magnolia.

The party was a lot of fun and a great way to taste some of these fantastic combinations and creative creations.

The grilled cheese bar is set up in the front of the store, and the restaurant offers 7 different combinations or you can make up your own.

I was able to try the Stinky Pete,  Krusty Krab, 'shroom 'shroom, and a roasted tomato customer created grilled cheese.  All of the sandwiches are made with cheese from around the world along with local producers as well as fresh and seasonal vegetables, charcuterie, and spreads.

The grilled cheese bar is available Sunday through Thursday from 5-6:30pm and then again from 10:30pm-12am to fulfill that late night comfort food craving.  The restaurant will also offer all beer on tap and wines by the glass at half price from 5-6:30 Sunday though Thursday.

After you get your grilled cheese fix you can head over to Sugar Magnolia, Ripple's newest addition.

Sugar Magnolia is a blossoming mini gourmet market that offers savory items as well as sweet baked goods including a mini homemade granola ice cream sandwich that I was able to try.  And to be honest, it might have been the best thing I tasted that whole night.

Cold goat cheese ice cream sandwiched between two granola wafers with a little blackberry spread and a sprinkle of black pepper.  It was cold, slightly sweet, slightly tangy, and the pepper made all the flavors pop.

The party was a lot of fun and a great way to try some of the new artisanal grilled cheeses.  It's definitely a spin on the American classic, and I highly recommend checking Ripple out if you're in the area.  And even if you're not in the area, it's definitely worth the trip.
