First Taste: nopa Kitchen+Bar

Initial Thoughts:

  • Design and Decor:  The décor features whitewashed exposed brick, wood paneling, and red seating.

  • Food: Garden fresh vegetables, select meats and fish prepared with a touch of French influence.
  • Drink:  You'll find the classics as well as cocktails with signature twists.  My favorite was the Muscat Love.
  • Service:  Exceptional.  Out of two visits so far, both servers were highly knowledgeable with excellent recommendations.
  • Would I go back?  Yes.  I'd especially recommend this spot for a business lunch or dinner.
Normally, I wouldn't even mention the bread from a restaurant, but nopa's is worth noting.  The flaky rolls pull apart and are layered with butter.  Yum!

Overall, we had two great experiences at the restaurant.  Most of the dishes we tried were good, but the my top choices are listed below.  For those who don't know, nopa means North of Pennsylvania Avenue.  All of the staff goes above and beyond to make the dining experience seamless.  Chef Greg McCarthy uses super fresh ingredients and cooks with subtle French twists.  The menu is packed with local fish and produce.  Stop in soon to try it for yourself and comment below to share your thoughts.

Best Dishes:
