First Taste: The Carolina Kitchen

Loosen your belts and head into The Carolina Kitchen for some soul food.  Sick of small plates?  This is your spot.  Chef/Owner Lance London recently opened his first DC restaurant serving authentic Southern fare in Rhode Island Row.
London’s menu, inspired by fresh ingredients found in his grandmother’s recipes, includes Southern Fried Lobster Tail hand-breaded, golden fried and served with dipping sauce; Fried Green Tomatoes hand-breaded with parmesan cheese and country fried served with spicy Creole dipping sauce; Rocky Mount Wings; Fried Oysters;
Raw Oysters; Fried Catfish and more.
Don't miss the Grilled Baby Back Pork Ribs basted with Carolina Kitchen’s award-winning BBQ sauce and served with baked beans, coleslaw and Cajun fries.
I'm a huge fan of the mac 'n cheese.
Save room for dessert.  I loved the banana pudding cake with banana pudding ice cream.  All homemade!

You will not leave hungry!

The Carolina Kitchen is located at 2350 Washington Place, NE, Washington, DC, 20018. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 10 PM; Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 12 AM. For additional information, please call (202) 733-1216 or visit www.thecarolinakitchen.com.
