Join Capital Cooking’s Lauren DeSantis and enter into a land of sugar: home-baked cupcakes, fresh mint truffles, sweet wine pairings, and two fun cocktails: a Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocktail and a Thin-Minti.

There’s no sugar-coating it: D.C. loves its cupcakes.  On this episode, LaTishia Wingate from Catch-That-Cupcake teaches us to make her signature Carmelicious Cupcakes.  Your mouth will water the minute you smell them in the oven!

Next, Lauren bakes fresh mint truffles.  The fresh mint, provided by our local Shenandoah Growers Herbs, is combined with melted dark chocolate.  Once the chocolate cools, it is rolled into dollops and dipped into cocoa powder.  These truffles are a great gift for a friend, or you can save them and delight in the fresh taste of chocolate and mint whenever you desire!

Revive your love for a girl-scout cookie with the Thin-Minti.  Lauren’s unique cocktail takes 360-chocolate vodka, infused with mint, and mixes it with a shot of baileys.  Before you know it, you have a new twist to your old school favorite!

The Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocktail mixes three flavors of vodka : 360 Chocolate Vodka, 360 Vanilla Vodka and 360 Bing Cherry.   Combined with cream and a touch of blue agave syrup, this cocktail will offer a sweet kick to your day.

Lastly, don’t miss out on the sweet wine pairings provided by VinBev.com.

Beautiful Sagaform glassware and herb pots.
